Mouhamadou Ba needs 3.5 Planet Earths to accommodate his present lifestyle (in Paris)
I am currently living in Paris. Here in Paris I find my footprint that high because I mostly eat meat at nearly a daily basis. Sometimes fish but still once a week maybe. I don’t have a car in city so I always use public transport as in train and bus. also, when I am at Lyon I use a bicycle or I walk to go from one place to another.
Plus, there the use of energy in my house in Paris. We are 4 in a m2. We use a lot of energy to heat the house in winter and the water for showering.
I come from Senegal. My footprint in Senegal should be much lower than my one in France. Because in my house there, most our meals are with fish. So we at least can eat 5 days of fish. Moreover, In my country we (as in my home) produce less trash than a normal house in Dakar would produce.
I can reduce my footprint in Paris by changing my alimentation. Eating less meat and buying fresh vegetables, overall fresh supplies. Maybe it would just mean eating Senegalese meals more often in France.
