Media, graphics and images

When it comes to behavior change – and that of course what this is all about – words, reports, conferences, wishes and even laws will not be enough to get the job done. People need to learn to think about things in different ways. That’s quite an order.

That’s why, for example, Al Gore had such a success with his long chain of presentations and eventually his prize-winning film, “An Inconvenient Truth”. He was able to take what many of us already knew for years and somehow concatenate it into a message that got through to many people.

Here in this small project we are not going to have a lot of time to dig up examples of good and useful media, but we thought we might at least try to build into the site, in a somewhat surreptitious way, a certain number of “visual metaphors” to help get these messages a bit further into the back of the visitor’s minds. Sustainable development is above all about people, our choices, our possibilities and our day-to-day lives. For that reason every time you click into the site you will be greeted with a different visual which, we hope, will remind you that , at the end of the day, all this is about people.
